Rohan Gilkes’ 27WeekBuild: Day 12 -Hiring

So this is a quick post to show how we use Craigslist to find cleaning teams to work with.

Craigslist you say?

Why not something more sophisticated like Monster or Indeed?

Facts are, Craigslist is where folks in local services hang out. Where they post looking for jobs and where they go to offer their services.

If you want to hire an accountant, you’ll do well on Indeed, Monster and others.

If you want to hire someone with home cleaning or lawn care experience, I haven’t found a single better outlet than Craigslist.

So that’s where we start.

There are two techniques we have found that work…

1. Make a post with a link back to a form

Here is an old ad we have used:

So with an ad like this we would include a link back to our Groovehiring landing page (that looks super professional) so the applicant can fill out a form where we can track applicants with ease.

Groovehiring is awesome, you can check it out here and get a free 30 day account

Reach out to cleaners that post their services

This one seems more intrusive but it works well.

Instead of posting in gigs or jobs, we actually look for folks that are offering their services and reach out to them to see if they need more jobs.

It’s a cold email to cleaners who have posted their services in the Services>Household section.

Try one or try both, but if you do this well you will have a host of folks lined up to work with you. These are just examples by the way, make them your own, use images, get brochures done on Fiverr, whatever works.

The point is to show that this is not a daunting process at all.

Will show a bit more tomorrow on how we narrow things down when people apply.
