A lot of folks don’t like Yelp.

And understandably so.

The reality is though, if managed well, Yelp can be a strong predictable source of qualified traffic for a local service business.

Take a second and watch the video above for some Yelp strategies.

Here’s a couple  more things we do to stay competitive on Yelp:

  1. Take advantage of the Yelp photo carousel.  It costs a bit, but it makes your business stand out that much more from the competition.
  2. Try Yelp deals.  Something like $15 for a $30 discount can be enough to help you convert that browser into a buyer.
  3. Respond to all Yelp complaints in a calm and collective manner while offering the customer a solution.
  4. If at all possible, your response to unhappy clients should happen way before the customer gets an opportunity to leave a review on Yelp.
  5. 4-5 stars is super important. there is a huge fall-off in traffic and confidence when you get lower than 4 stars.  So it pays to find solutions to customer issues to avoid falling below the 4 star rating.
